Health Innovation Blog publishes general educational information. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent disease; establish a personal screening or testing plan; or replace care from a qualified healthcare professional who knows your history.
Laboratory results require context
A result is interpreted alongside symptoms, medical history, medicines and supplements, age, sex, pregnancy status, specimen quality, timing, units, method, and related findings. Reference intervals vary among laboratories and populations. A result inside an interval does not guarantee health, and a result outside it does not establish a diagnosis.
Do not change treatment from an article
Follow the preparation and follow-up instructions from the clinician and laboratory responsible for your test. Do not start, stop, or change a medicine or supplement because of information on this site. Screening tests and risk markers often require confirmation or a different diagnostic evaluation.
Urgent symptoms need urgent care
Online information and testing should never delay urgent evaluation. Call local emergency services for severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, including chest pain, serious trouble breathing, signs of stroke, fainting, severe bleeding, or a suspected severe allergic reaction.
Editorial review is not medical care
Articles identify their sources and review date. Unless a real named clinician and credentials are shown, an article has not been medically reviewed. Source checking and software-assisted editorial checks do not create a clinician-patient relationship or guarantee that an article fits an individual's circumstances.
